Hectic morning weigh in, blob up, muscle down a notch. Just got back from masquerading as an adult for a few hours, had to get dressed and everything even though it’s another scorcher. It just hit 100 at the house. I’m so over this, but also lucky it only lasts about a week.
NSV as the pants I wore this morning were some I used to wear in the office when it was hot and I moved out in 2012. The scale may not be moving, but the blob is doing something because I could breathe and run up four flights of stairs. Thank you rowing for making that a possibility.
Yesterday was a good day, I swam, we walked around sunset, medium walk and slowish, and then I did row #104 which was only 10 minutes, but it got done. Swim was okay, i know this will make no sense, but it’s hard to swim when it’s hot. I had turned the temp down to 80, and it was still a lot more effort to move quickly, so I pulled back to moderate about halfway through. 854 strokes, 10.5METs, 13 minutes out of 30 in peak.
Some spectacular clouds last night, even with the heat. We ended up at 108 yesterday, 103 in the shade. Real thermometers, not an app.

Another hot day ahead, thermometer was already reading 90 at 8:30, I guess we’re going to hit upper 90’s again. I ended up taking the dogs on a medium walk last night once the sun went down. It was still hot, but tolerable. I hid in the house most of the day and intend to do the same again today. Did a 30 minute row yesterday, #103, had three different fans on me. Got it done. Didn’t swim, just stuck my feet in for a little bit to cool down.
Anayways, blob up, muscle down, it’s hot 🥵. Weekend rules.

Happy weekend! Even though it was a short week, it was fairly busy. I did manage to get in a swim last night. Honestly, it was terrible as far as performance, but it was hot outside and the pool is a refuge from the heat and humidity.
No walk last night, but did get in a row, #102, a decent 10 minute hard session. Where am I going with that, well, we’re gonna go for 150 first, then maybe a year. I think i do get to pick a reward, and it’s new trail shoes because the walking ones I got for my birthday are too slick for the trails, so seems like a good choice.
Blob way down, muscle up, good.
Time to get on with it. Going to be another hot day, need to get stuff done. I think there’s a skeleton that needs to get dusted off… or maybe the dust will add something extra?

Hmmm, eating half a package of smoked salmon for dinner is probably to blame here. That said, it was delicious and a healthy indulgence. All gone now. Shorter walk last night, too hot. Came home and was starting to slack off, but couldn’t stand the thought of breaking the rowing streak. So, row #101 was ten lame minutes watching a show in order to get it on the books to maintain the streak. Weird not wanting to let go. Maybe we go for a year with reasonable excuses for travel and holidays. I kinda like that.
Blob down, muscle way up (some sodium in there, too), hoping tomorrow it’ll be even less blob and the muscle stays. I’ve had some pretty good NSV’s that I forget to document, but we’ll just say the vintage closet is now back in rotation for some things. Things I’m happy about: some rowing workouts are too easy in the current configuration. Good, because it opens up new wardrobe options I haven’t had for awhile. That said, I’m not going back to office wear anytime soon.
Another rocket launch last night, decent enough for the naked eye but too hazy for good photos other than little dots in the sky. Done working, going swimming. Weekend rules as of 3, 2, 1… NOW!!!
