I liked the saying. It seems most of my life is motivated by others thinking I can't. Is it wrong? I don't think so, because I am the one who's moving and 'they' don't want my success in it. Why not use their hope for my failure as my determination for success?

I'm with Sarah - I do everything because I'm told it can't be done.

Yeah, I automatically think about the similar word that ends in d and has another s and an e. But that term is for when you start out breakfast right and then go haywire for lunch and dinner.

Steven, my plan is to stay healthy enough to be on my feet until the last couple of weeks of life. It's better for them, and it's better for me. Cheers.

@Northern - I like that goal. I'm going to make it mine as well. Well thought out.

My mother in law was riding her bicycle at 82 just six weeks before she passed. Quite the roll {sic} model. :)

Hey NM, Arctic and Glen, both my grandfathers were active until they passed away, one in his late eighties and the other (my middle name -Lloyd) at 92. Lloyd tried to walk 5 miles every day, even in our cold winters he would walk outside or when very cold make laps in his basement. My father on the other hand, developed type II diabetis in his fifties, died at 73, the last 15 years of his life were not good either. He was a strong man, heavily muscled but gained weight as he got older and continued to eat like he was 25 until it got the better of him....I saw myself inching down that path last year and that is why I'm here. Although I was pretty active my poor eating habits were catching up to me.

My people tend to live into their 80s and 90s when they're not well. While being on my feet two weeks prior to getting sick and dying is actually a second place goal, my hope is to die while I'm packing out a moose at 102. :)
