Well, gaining 4 lbs instead of losing and now 12 lbs above my goal, 138, I think I know what I have been doing: not writing down all my calories, eating too much fat when combined with carbs, and sitting, sitting, sitting. Going to be doing some household rearranging, that will temporarily at least take care of all the sitting. Howeverm I am presently putting printed texts of old stories I wrote into microsoft with the idea of publishing on Amazon, I am going to have to sit some more. Taking regular walks would help. Need to do it. Fat cells threaten my life at 80. Right now my blood pressure is much lower than it was, and my blood sugar is 91 this morning--trying to avoid too much carb loading, helped.
Time to diet classically: calorie control, carb control, and exercise. Writing down my calories before I eat them will help. Be brave. Living long enough to get published and see my grandkids into the twenties will be a reward enough.

I have reached the hard part of my diet. After a year and a half I am tired of self restraint and want to eat whenever I come upon some likely morsel, a table spoon of ice cream, a fourth of a chocolate croissant, a bite of cheese, a few asparagus spears, a piece of toast, butter on my vegetables, unlimited amounts of fat-rich beef, and so on. No wonder I have gone up to 146 this morning.

Exercise, sensible self-restraint, eating on a plan and not deviating, writing down all I eat, weighng portions, and the old faithful, not eating until I have 120 blood sugar or below.
I know what to do. Marshalling the courage to do it and stick to it is something else. However, I have a goal, 138 lb. Right now that is 8 lbs away. By October, maybe. It is fun to wear size small after being so fat for so long. I need to be vain enough, and interested in my own health enough to get down to a weight that is
"not overweight" for my age and height.
