Good workout today: only 55 mins, but quite intense--sweat soaked up my t-shirt!! 35 mins on treadmill (about 6 mins of running, with the longest one of 2.5 mins---and the rest of it brisk walkng at 3.8 MPH). Also did 20 mins on stationary bike (at speed b/w 3-4). Didn't feel as tired--could have continued more, and certainly added weights, but I had to go and get ready to go out, so planned to come down and do weights after coming home at night. The latter didn't happen as I had to take care of something else that popped up (even though I did get all changed into my gym clothes for this round 2 of workign out)..well, tomorrow I can do so..

Food was good in the day, with a total of only 12 pts used until evening, after which I had to go to a happy hour. There, I thought I would only have soda and a light appetizer, but it was a fusion mexican restuarant and didn't have ANY healthy, diet-type appetizers, but we did good..shared 4-5 ones and they were all relatively healthy. I did end up having one glass of wine (peer pressure!). But, I'm hoping my banked points will take care of this, and still yield me some weight loss. There were 6 of us at the happy hour, and they were all very buff and in great shape. One guy was a triathelete, another woman was 50-yr old, but had a totally hot body of a 30-yr old, with great biceps and all, and then another guy was an avid hiker, biker etc....Normally, I'd have felt so out of shape around these kind of people, but today I felt confident and able to hold my own! I know I looked good today, plus I'd worked out, and now my fitness level is also getting better...and I know one day I'll get to be quite the outdoorsy person, no worries! Until then, I'm still in pretty good shape--not as thin as them, but eh--curves didn't hurt anyone! :)

Also, being around them was motivating, as we did talk about healthy and health-related stuff, were planning some outdoorsy events, and one of them's promised to come over to my gym and show me some of the right forms and stuff for weight-lifting...they were eating very consciously too...the 5o-yr old woman ordered dessert, but had only 3 spoonfuls (her usual strategy!)...and all of us had only a few spoonfuls of appetizers (and that constituted dinner), so good portion-control.

I'm liking all this food-vigilance, health-talk, and working out stuff...I actually felt great about myself when I exited the gym all sweaty and not as fatigued...it felt great then, to have worked out to the max, and then get ready, look and feel sexy, and then go out--guiltlessly!! So, on that note, I'll up the ante even more tomorrow...plus, I have additional deadlines with my writing---so the next two weeks are going to be an awesome crunch-time: Physical hard work, mental hard work, and social hard work!!! :) Just the kind of pace I thrive under---bring it on!!!

Ok, so here's the meals and points for today:
Breakfast: 1 string cheese (2), 8 almonds (1.5), 1 small plum (0.5)
Lunch: 1/2 veggie delite subway (whole wheat, all veggies, mustard and fat free sweet onion dressing) (4-5 pts)
Snack: 1 almond biscotti (3?) and coffee with cream (1)
Dinner: 4 shared appetizers (taquitos): chille poblano realano (with smoked gouda), hongo ( portebello with halopeno mustard creme), a mushroom and spinach cheesy dish (don't know the name)..[total 10 pts?]

1 glass of wine (2 pts)

Brownie points: skipped the awesome specialty guacamoles, bowls of chips and salsa, and the tortillas that came with the meal...I didn't feel so sorry for myself, because everyone skipped this too!! The wonders of hanging out with other health-conscious people!! Also, didn't have any dessert, and skipped the awesome margaritas..

Can't estimate how many points total, but I'm sure it's not too heavy, plus I had yesterday's banked points. I hope to see a loss tomorrow!

Oh! Came home and felt peckish around 10 pm, so broke down and had 1 veggie patty (2 pts), and am gonna stay up 3 hours past that so I don't sleep on this food...hope b/w this late night eating, drinking the wine, and having some of the cheesy and fatty content of the appetizers I don't end up gaining weight tomorrow!

Water: Close to 4 L! Wow, where does all this water get absorbed?!

Great to hear your confidence today. To be around well fit people and not break a sweat is a major achievement. That means you finally realize that you look good too!! (Which is what i have been telling you all along!!)I loved your fancy smancy food ...which I couldnt pronounce but nevertheless sounded tasty. Have you thought of also writing recipes for your meals?

You sound like you had such a good day! And you did so well with everything, too. Great exercise, great food choices and had fun, too! Bravo! It sounds like you've found a great group to hang out with because they share your healthy lifestyle. It's so much easier when you can be in a group of likeminded people :) You're doing so well, I can't even give any advice except to say: Keep up the great effort!
