Quick recap:
Woke up late so no breakfast, but had cereal for brunch. Did some errands and cleaned up my apartment, and then went and did 30 mins on cardio with intervals of walking and running (about 200K, and 1 3-mins. run and 5 1-min runs). Showered and got ready for drinks/dinner out (my second date with the car-adventure-date from last week). Had a quick strawberry bar in preparation of drinks as I hadn't eaten much so far in the day. I had been drinking plenty of water, though.

On the date, I limited myself to one drink (but at 8.5% alcohol, that must have packed a good punch!). Also, I did very well with the meal overall, having ordered proteins, and minimal carbs and also got some greens.

After dinner we went for a movie, and weirdly so, I was starting to get the beginning of a headache just before the movie began...I worried that it would intensify, and should probably drink water--but then again, water= more bathroom breaks, and that's usually not a good thing during a MOVIE--and especially on a date! So I opted for no water, and kept my fingers crossed re the headache. We saw "Chronicles of Narnia"--I totally recommend it! However, now by the end of the movie, my little sensation of a headache had turned into a full-blown real deal!

So at this point, I really didn't feel like talking much, discussing the movie, and/or prolonging the date--and had to resort to the classic "I have a headache" line--even though it was the truth this time!! I hope he didn't think I was blowing him off--and I tried to explain so...but oh well...we'll see...however, it is interesting and ironic that the end of each of our dates has been some weird mishap--I hope this is not a sign or something!

Well, he barely managed to drop me off home, and I dashed in to find me some water and headache pills, coz it was getting quite unbearable...and turns out, no pills anywhere!! I rummaged through bathroom cabinets, kitchen counters, my travel case etc..but I was out!

So at 1.30 am, I had to drive down to the corner CVS! I was afraid of a) crashing into something with my headache being so strong, or b) throwing up as I was feeling pretty nauseous by now. Well, luckily, neither incident happened, and I barely managed to make it back home, and immediately, had to run to the bathroom and throw up! I took two advils and plenty of water, and about an hour later the headache subsided. And had good sleep and woke up all recovered. So happy ending.

Ok, so now, I have no idea what all that was about? Was it no enough water? Not enough carbs to balance the drink? It can't be the 1 measly beer, right? I can handle at least 3 drinks or so, and even more with food..so this is surprising...could be the burger? It tasted a little meaty--and I had the waitress confirm that it was indeed meatless, but maybe they cooked it in the meat juices and could I have reacted to that? Who knows...but it'd be good to figure out so as to prevent a freak event like this in the future.

P.S: I remember the heading of this entry was "Quick recap"..so if you read this far, sorry for the misleading title! ;)

Your journals are always worth reading and I tend to feel a little cheated when they aren't long enough to satisfy my reading enjoyment so I was quite happy that it turned out to be a bit longer! I'm glad the car incident guy was up for a second date. And I'm thinking the headache will not be a deterrent, either. If any of those dating books have any validity, guys are suppose to like it when the woman is a bit of a challenge. So he should be feeling very intrigued! Sorry to hear that the headache caused such a post-date commotion, though. Not too many headaches are strong enough to make you lose your cookies so it would indeed be worth investigating the cause. At least the worst of it was reserved for when the date had gone home so he didn't have to prove his mettle by running to the drug store and holding cold compresses to your forehead! That might have been too much to ask on a second date ;-) Enjoy the rest of your day.

Aww - what a shame about the headache bringing an abrupt end to your date. I imagine it may well have been due to dehydration - you really should drink plenty of water and not avoid it because of the inconvenience of bathroom breaks! I've read you do this before, and it's very naughty, so don't do it!! Anyway, sounds like you had a pretty good day prior to the ending - and congrats on the 1.6lb weight loss, which you didn't even mention! :)

Haha! Leanne, slap on the wrist received and will follow through--yes ma'am ! :) But the question remains, how do people keep hydrated/drink water and all those sodas and yet manage to keep a control on their bladder for 2 hours or longer movie durations? It feels very conspicious when I have to get up during shows and movies..was wondering how others deal with that. And P.S: the total date was over 7 hours long, so I'm not that worried about cutting it short given it was 1 am already! :)

P.P.S: the beer that I drank was "Delirium Tremens", also the name of a neurological condition induced by alcohol! Ironic, eh?

I drink tons of water and just live with paying the price of those frequent trips to the bathroom! My strategy is to pay the ladies a visit at the last possible moment before something like a movie, and I can normally get through it, even though I'll normally drink a whole bottle of water while I'm watching!!

You poor thing! I'm so sorry that you had such a bad headache. It sounds like a full blown migrane. How awful. I agree with Evelyn's sage advice about men liking a challenge!!! Way to play hard to get :D
