How many of you guys have taken a diet - like an actual 30-day diet plan - and adjusted portions upwards to meet your caloric needs?

I've got a 30-day plan that I *know* works, but the calories are so low that you really shouldn't exercise on it at all. What I like is it gives you exact meals to eat, so there's no guess work. I could easily put in the basic day's meals and then add more of the same foods until my calories are up to 1500-ish...

Honestly, I sound sure of myself but I'm beyond conflicted about this!

PS: Starting Crossfit in April and continuing with running, so the calories can't be too low

Never done an eating plan really. Well, I tried once but it didn't take. But some people do well on that structured approach. I suppose as long as you're not feeling deprived, you like the meals & they adequately provide all the nutrition you need, then it will be easier to stick to. Best of luck!

Wow, I'm slow to reply... Sorry! @escapistArt - I like the idea of the structured approach, simply because I'm not the kind of person who can decide what we should eat at each meal. As far as far as deprived goes - I've been gluten-free vegan, I've tried carnivore... I deal well with super strict rules and don't mind missing out too much 🤔 @Belinda Cowan - I hear what you're saying. For me it isn't about a diet, but about learning what to eat and when in order to make those long-term changes. This ties in with what I said above - I go into analysis paralysis when I have to decide what we're eating at each meal and then default to whatever is easiest/quickest which isn't always ideal. Using a structured plan, in my opinion, would help me structure my days better in the long term, I'd hope! So yes - not for a quick fix, but a tool to learn what's okay, what's not and how to plan 🙈

I have done it before and it works wonders... it’s just hard to go back and be strict on it. No sugar. No mixing protein. Weighing your food and etc.
