I seem to be obessesed with myself and my diet and my weight at the moment. It seems to fill my thoughts constantly , how much I've lost, how good I feel, the clothes I am lining up to wear soon, it feels like an unhealthy obsession , like this has taken over my life - I am so involved in myself I wonder whether I am neglecting other areas like my children, bible study, friends. I don't want to go out with friends because it involves eating and drinking and I don't want to / can't join in, its wrong! But I am doing something remarkable for myself - my health, my confidence, surely it is worth it to achieve what I want. I think it is. Whats life without a project!?

You can't deprive yourself just remember to work SMARTER not HARDER!

This is just my viewpoint: I don't think we should give in to silly cravings for food, and then have to work on taking off gained weight. On the flip side everyone with any addiction still has to learn to live life and face being around their offending drug of choice at any turn...I believe we need to learn how to be in social situations and just say no. I believe we do have to deprive ourselves, but not look at it as being deprived, that's where there is fault in that logic...putting too much into the worth of food. It’s a drug than can kill us, and has ruined many lives in more ways than one. We simply just need to stay on a healthy track, a healthier way of eating and take in only what we need to nourish our bodies. Anything more, is not what the good Lord intended. I think it’s okay to be so focused on reaching your goal otherwise, it just may not happen. Although you might be thinking these thoughts, I don’t see how it could keep you from being the great mother you are. You will now be a healthier mom, and that’s important also.

You need to go out with your friends. Of course it isn't ideal, but you need to figure out how to work your new lifestyle into your life! You need to find ways to eat healthy and still do all those things because it truly is a lifestyle. If you don't figure out how it's going to work with LIFE it's all for naught! You'll gain it back. You can totally go out with your friends. Have water if you don't want anything else. But you should be able to have something! Plan it out :) Or, invite your friends to do something else. Maybe a walk in a park or some other outdoor activity. Personally, I find I've got more going on socially now that I'm healthier and more active. Meeting up with friends doesn't have to mean eating and drinking!

I'm learning ..I go to a ballgame and if i want something i'll get it without regard for anything I don't deprive myself but i also don't over indulge i don't want to miss a thing because of food is there, my wife works knee deep in food all day and she eats healthy as can be but she also does't miss any funtctions , I really ok now i know i feel terrific..and that's what' matters most to me

I have also struggled with this, but each time I go out and encounter a new situation and stay strong, it builds my confidence. And as K8yk said...find some things you can do besides eating and drinking! Go bowling, play frisbee in a park. Or...reverse it and have people over for a nice low carb meal and play board games! We do need to find ways to work our new lifestyle and WOE into every avenue of our lives. We want to be happy and keep friends and I KNOW you can do it all together without losing your goal of health and skinniness!
