Ive been snacking more and having more 2nds at dinner. NEED more encouragement to stay on track

Post more here, Hon! Visit more often and write down your thoughts. Try listening to some guided meditations on YouTube or insighttimer.com but don't beat yourself up, that just leads to more stress and more weight. Now is a new start. Right now! You got this!

well you admitted it and asked for help, thats awesome!! u got this!!! so think about the snacks u are having, journal everything, see whats going on. are u mood eating, etc? then, put up notes around the house and fridge that tell you what to do! things that will help remind you why u are not wanting seconds or more snacks :)

A few years ago my husband used to always take 2nds for dinner (and he's a skinny guy so didn't really matter) but he didn't like how bloated and full he felt after. So he started what he calls a one plate policy. For years now he only serves himself once. Announce to all around you that you have a one plate policy and people respect it and say what a good idea. It's very simple but effective. I do the same. You serve yourself the first time knowing it's just that one time (and no, you don't end up piling the plate, just a normal serving). Good luck. Also, eat from a blue plate. The colour blue is proven to deflect hunger. Never eat from red or orange - that makes you want more food!

These are all GREAT 👍 suggestions! I was also going to say that I cut the options for seconds when my kids were growing up. I would prepare and plate the entrée for everyone unless it was a casserole (even then sometimes I'd plate, and second would be on the stove top in the kitchen). I'd prepare two non-starchy vegetables, if we had corn or peas we didn't have potatoes or rolls, but two veggies every night! Then if we had dessert it would be a fruit salad or a small serving of ice cream or pudding or some such. If it was the fruit salad they were welcome to seconds(it normally had a yogurt dressing). We all stayed healthy and maintained when I was cooking like this, it was only as my genetic/family illnesses caught up to me that things slid. 🤷🏻‍♀️
