So I have trouble keeping groceries in the house for long. I tend to go through them all quickly because having food in the house at all gives me anxiety. Most of it has to do with when I was a kid. My mom raised me, but never had much money for name brands or sweets. When I visited my dad on the weekends he had all the goodies so I’d eat anything and everything I could while I was there since I knew when I went back to my mom’s, I wouldn’t have those things anymore. Now in adulthood, I noticed I subconsciously created a pattern of binging on the weekends after grocery shopping for my cravings and eating barely anything during the week at work. I need to train my brain to know that I can have these foods whenever I want, they will not magically disappear. I think this week I will practice buying something I want, but making it last slowly throughout the whole week.
