The consistency of my weight training is definitely paying off. The weight seems to just drop off now, my metabolism is obviously catching up,
Of course diet goes hand in hand with exercise. You can't outtrain a bad diet. I find the exercise lifts your mood and controls your appetite. Plus, who wants to undo all their hard work?
Over the past few years, I have tried everything under the sun. My weight has been up and down, with the mood swings to match,
I find what is really working for me this time is;
Consistency - your feelings and emotions change with the the weather. Even when you don't feel like it, and you feel like you're getting nowhere, do the work anyway. Your body doesn't care if your mind isn't motivated - just show up - the results are the same.
*on that note, if you can find an exercise that you love and fits well with your routine, this makes consistency much easier. As does meal planning and a well stocked kitchen, so that eating healthy is the easy choice, and it becomes a lifestyle, not a diet,
Accountability - weigh in. If you have a bad day, own it. I ate a zillion calories. No guilt. No shame. We all have them. Draw a line under it. Move on. One bad day does not define your journey. What you do consistently is what matters. Progress not perfection.
Trust - trust the process. Sometimes the scales disappoint. Sometimes they downright piss you off. Refuse to be discouraged. Great things take time.
Self-love - we are all here which takes courage, determination and decisiveness in itself. We can do this, we owe it to ourselves, we deserve to and we are worth it 💗
