BMI is general indicator for quick analysis, doesnt take in account muscle, ripped bodybuilder can have high bmi. Obviously u do not have bodyfat analyser, then just look at ur stomach if nearly flat, and thighs, face if seem ok then don't worry abt bmi. Other hard way is pinch or try to grab ur stomach within fingers, if u can grab huge layer, thinner the layer u can grab better the bodyfat. But overall just watching stomach is good indicator. Google body fat percent comparison images and see which percentage suits u.
Anyways i was looking to post text in here bt cudnt find, Thanks to u I found a way like u did this post.

BMI has very poor evidence of being a reliable health indicator...rely on energy levels, performance, how your clothes fit, emotional stability etc

hi @nikhily, you can calculate your body fat and then calculate your BMI, BMI don't consider muscle mass percentage or fat percentage. first set your diet and BMI based on body fat then BMI.also BMI have many effective features and different formulas.

BMI is a useful indicator of health at the population level. However, the distribution of fat on your body is more important that the amount, when assessing your disease risk. For this reason, your waist circumference is thought to be a better predictor of health risk than your BMI.

Hi Nikhil.. I would suggest to get a Body Composition Analysis test to understand more about your body. How much % of your weight is fat, water, muscle, skeletal mass etc are some imp things you’ll get to know. Also where in your body you need to get rid of fat and where to improve muscle etc will also be there.

BMI is definitely one the standard health status measuring technique and measure, but if you want to actually calculate your health status related to wt. and height it's not that much accuract because of the fact the weight you have is of both muscles as well as fats, even professional bodybuilders have their BMI in the obesity category but their majority wt. is muscle mass.So it's better to be concern about body fat percent and and increasing muscle strength and mass.

Hei Nikhil.. As per my knowledge BMI <18.5 is thinner, 18.5 to 24 is normal, 25 to 29.5 overweight n 30+ is obese. You can get your actual BMI with help of BMI Calculator available in Google.
