I am obsessed w/ daily weighing. I know its not a good practice to have...but I seem to be addicted to doing it. Then, I find that even though the scale is down 2+ pounds since yesterday, I am not happy. WHAT!?!? Sounds insane, yet true. Of course then I also start questioning whether each decrease on the scale is actually a true loss.... <sigh> I think I've lost my ever loving mind. :)

I have the same problem. I wonder if it's the right thing to do sometimes. But it does give me a good idea on how my body responds to things. An added problem for me is I travel for work so sometimes it's different scales so I question the validity of my numbers. I just decide to keep pushing and look for other signs of weight loss so I don't go crazy!!!

Water weight and body fluid fluctuations can account for a substantial difference in your total weight. Daily weighing won't tell you much about your overall progress.

Pick one day a week and own what you see that day. Mine is Friday morning for my Weight Watchers meeting. It's official and recorded there, so I use it here too.

What you should do, if you want to stop obsessing, is put the scale away. Mark one or two days on the calendar and only on those days take it out and record your weight. Your weight changes daily and it is not healthy to become obsessed about it. I've been there and it does no good and essentially can cause other issues. Hope this helps if you decide to try it.

I weigh about once a week. That gives the scale a chance to move a little and I feel better. :)

What about turning this habit of weighing daily into positive thing? Actually, I used to weight on daily basis (until the battery died on my scales, which I have no time to go buy to replace). When I was weighing daily, I was more into keeping up with my calorie count, than when I went down to weighing like once a week.... daily helped me being motivated
