Thanks to liv001's advise, I have been doing a lot of readin' writin' and cypherin' like Jed Clampet (for those of you who remember The Beverly Hillbillies)used to say. So, today, tomorrow and Thursday I am on a "fat fast", then on Friday I will do a 24 hour fast. On Saturday, I will start on an Atkins Influenced Keto Diet. I'm going to increase my daily calories from 1300 to between 1500 and 1800. I haven't finished my new menu yet. The next few days Should put me into ketosis and the Modified Atkins will keep me there.

I've done the fat fast several times, loved it. BUT please make sure you get enough protein. Speaking from experience (and ignoring advise on here) I lost a lot of weight but much of it was muscle instead of fat. I was left with a high BF%, what is called 'skinny fat'. I've had several DEXA scans over the years and after adjusting my macros I've managed to up my muscle and lose fat. Since then, I've managed to slip back into old habits and find weight that I had lost...sigh... I'm back at it, watching carbs and trying to keep my protein up so it doesn't happen again.
