What are Ketostix? Aren't you still hiking lots? I bet you are still building lots of muscle and burning off fat. Keep at it because eventually the weight has to come off.  

Ok, I have decided that you need to change the battery in your scale. With what you are eating you have to be losing, it just doesn't show on the scale. Are you testing late at night or early morning? Look at what I found in my research about why a strip will not turn....on a website someone said "well i have used ketone strips for over 10 years. Usually when i start induction it takes 3-5 days to start ketoning. Dr. Atkins book states that it takes at least 2 days to start ketoning depending on how insulin resistant you are. I got out my Atkins 72' book out and started induction to the letter and I started ketoning the 2nd day on induction. boy i tell you that is a sure motivation to keep on truckin. I did find that the walgreens brand ketone sticks arent as good as the name brand ketostix. happy ketoning to you all." Don't really know if brand matters, I have always used the brand name when dieting. I do know when I start dieting again in January your dedication will be my inspiration.  

My clothes fit the same, so it's not my scale battery, and I don't believe i'm losing much fat either. I've been eating like this for over a month, no results on the stix, so there is something very wrong. I don't think I'm burning fat. Susan, ketostix measure ketosis, which is a result of fat burning. You pee on a little tab on a strip of paper and it changes color when you are in ketosis.
