Doctor told me that I have very high cholesterol. In a panic I have gone off my low carb way of eating. The weight has piled on in a matter of weeks. I have decided to restrict butter/Dairy and animal fat but still follow a low carb way of eating. Paleo seems support this however I am worried that I will not loose the weight that I want to. Going to try and restrict my carbs to under 50g a day. I was most successful when I was aiming for no more than 20g of carbs and in Ketosis but my doctor not happy with my fat intake at that time. Fingers crossed!!!!

I can suggest you try to eat less and go longer between meals.(fasting) Stay low carb when you do eat. Look at my numbers for proof.

I have just had the same very high total cholesterol test result. Never been so high. Doing lchf diet and IF, but not strictly, for 6 months and lost 10 kilo. Feeling healthy and fitter than l have been for many years. I don't have any other markers for coronary disease risk. Result was a shock but l have been Google searching and learning more around the subject lchf + cholesterol and there's a lot of questions and uncertainty about these test results for lchf dieters. Particularly interesting reports and thoughts from Low Carbs Down Under forum. Hopefully you will find some useful insights to discuss with your doctor

Search Dr John Bergman - cholesterol. You may find the answer you need. His is based in the States and teachers doctors. I found him challenging and what he has said has worked for my family. All the best Karen
