Exercise! Exercise! Exercise! - Friend or Foe???????
All week I have been 100% dedictaed to the diet, it's been like going to church, a religion if you like, so I weighed everyday and every day I lost - until this morning.
I actually put on 1 1/2 pounds!!! Overall I have lost just over 2 pounds in 3 weeks.
What's that about?
Yesterday, I got up took the kids swimming I had excellent exercise, then we cam home cleaned out our freezers and then went for a walk. I even carried my 1kg hand weights whilst we walked briskly for over an hour with jogging intervals and I still PUT ON WEIGHT!
I am getting extremely frustrated especially since I sort of enjoy this new life so why is the weight not showing on the scales? HELP?

At long last, it's coming off. After the first two weeks I didn't lose a single pound and was disappointed so I decided to weigh every morning and keep a record of what I was eating and drinking in a day. This way maybe I can see what days I don't lose or even gain and they are going to be my "danger" days. Since Monday I lost 1 and 3/4 pounds and it's only Wednesday today. I could end up losing about 11 pounds in the first two weeks but I cut back on my exercising and introduced eating 8 almonds about 9.00pm with a cup of de-caf when usually at about this time of night I'd stuff chocolate or toast with butter. Will keep you posted on my progress but these are exciting times.

I weighed this morning and I didn't lose a single pound. A bit gutted but neither did my husband lose any weight so it could be one of two things.
one - We didn't quite follow the diet as stringent as we had thought we had or two - we have been putting in a lot of exercise (walking, cardio-vascular, cross trainer and weights etc) and this has had an adverse affect.
Never mind I am now more determined to prove the scales wrong and my clothes are fitting my slightly better. I can do up the bottom button on my shirts (for work) and my trousers (again for work) also feel like they have more room in them.
If anyone has any tips I would be grateful to hear from you.

This morning I received my "South Beach Diet Cookbook". It has over 200 recipes for all phases of the diet and I have to say I am impressed. If you haven't got it you will be kicking yourself as Phase 1 is the most restrictive it offers more recipes which I would never have thought of and it has ideas for Breakfasts, Stsrters and Snacks, Soups, Salads, Side Dishes and Accompaniments, Fish Shellfish and Poultry, Meat, Vegetarian dishes and lastly Desserts.
No-one will fail on this diet if they have this book, I can't wait to finish work at 4.00 today and read it at home. This coming Monday I enter Phase 2 so the recipes and tips are ideal.

This is my second week on the South Beach Diet and I have to say I am loving it so far. My husband and I began the diet on July 9th and for us the hardest thing was getting out of our daily routine and giving up the booze. It's not that we are alcoholics or anything but we both have full time jobs with four sons under 10 stress can sometimes takeover leading to a bottle or two of budweiser each night to unwind.
No more, that's gone and we now go out and walk for hours, or exercise on our cross trainer or step while catching up on the latest x-weighted programme which we watch avidly every day.
We have already noticed a difference in the way our clothes feel and are not too bothered if the scale says we haven't lost becasue we see and feel that we have.
