Injuries and insecurities
So I somehow injured my back which has made me have to reassess my exercise activity. my strength for weights has lessened and I'm not sure why I hadn't recorded it, but this new weight is 2 kgs heavier than what I was pre injury. On top of that my partner competed in a body building comp (good on him) but I'm already so insecure about my body and watching bikini girls being perfect (not hating them) well...now I honestly just HATE my body. I don't want to eat, I want to get fake tits, I feel ugly, and if I had a knife I would slice all my ugly body parts away.
I have no idea how to like myself again, and to trust my partner likes MY body when it's not perk and perfect like ALL the girls he is constantly surrounded by.

The right time to weigh yourself
I had a bit of a 'what is the point of this' moment, as I had been sticking to calories and had increased steps, yet my weight had gone up. I was so disheartened. I wanted to give up and just eat all the junk food I could.
Then I did some research. Throughout the day your weight will change and go up and down. The best time to weigh yourself is in the morning, when you wake up.
I tried this theory this morning, and I weigh almost 700grams less than I do in the evening.
I don't feel like giving up any more. If you feel unsure about something, research it and try and get a more broad idea of what is actually going on.

Consistency pays off
Have changed the hours I work, which means my days can now be more consistent. The best thing is having a routine for sleep. Before, there would weeks where I would only get 4 hours in a row every 24 hours. My stress levels have decreased as I have finished compulsary study. I find I am more focused at work and energy levels are more consistent.
Shift work is hard on the body, I don't miss giving up 24/7 work at all.
Eating and meals are now more regular, compared to before where I accommodated daily depending on what shift I was on.
If there is one thing I have learnt, it is that the body and mind thrives on consistency.

Trying to stay consistent
I am following a well known coach and he is recording training techniques. One thing he has done differently is record weight DAILY and not once a week. there were 37 days where his weight fluctuated even though his diet and training was on track. Was so unaware that this was normal and he talked about it. I was starting to feel disheartened with all the effort I put in but seemed to be going backwards.
Listening to what he had to say and not just giving up and going back to bad habits, has helped me through this phase. Realizing weight going up and down then going down is a normal phase of weight loss has been a huge eyeopener for me.
So to anyone out there that gets discouraged when the scales don't show your hard work....be consistent $ don't give up.

Slowly getting there
Incorporating consistency with shift work plus study is slowly becoming part of my every day lifestyle. Learning how to 'read' food products and not relying on the 'so called healthy marketing' that is portrayed on packaging.
purchasing a pedometer has been the best investment so far, realizing that I don't have to exercise to the point of injury or exhaustion has been a total game changer.
