I'm doing much better on my challenge goals today. I went from using 85% of my RDI to using 81%. Again, a record! I think I'm going to try staying between 75% and 80% during the challenge. I know it's a bit of a modification but I honestly do not think, with my eating problems, that I can keep up a diet under 1200 calories until October. Plus, July 4 brings its own problems for me. It marks the anniversary of my decision to give up desserts for a year. Yikes!
Like I said, I'm doing great on the challenges but I've been feeling
down. I don't know if that has anything to do with my strict diet, but since I have had problems with emotional eating before I need to be extra careful.
Speaking of depressing: I attempted to start some beginner weight training today. How am I supposed to build ab muscles when I can't even do a sit up?! I won't have regular access to a gym until mid-August. So discouraging!

First day on my challenges (40 lbs down by the end of September and H2O Challenge). It's harder than I thought it would be. Even though I easily stayed within my RDI budget, I had difficulty keeping my consumption under the 70 percentile mark. I am not too discouraged because I managed to stay at 85 percent, a new record during my short time as a member. Tomorrow, I will aim to keep it under 85 percent until I finally reach 70.
I meant to do some weight training today. That didn't happen...
I checked out the 40 lbs down challenge page. Apparently, we are all grouped up. For what end, I do not know. I guess I will have to "weight and see." Ha ha. Sorry, bad pun. Weight and see is my group's name. For now, I'm just going to focus on me and my buddies.

I went over today. I did have some problems with snacking at lunch, but the big problem stemmed from dinner. I was invited out to eat. I got grilled fish tacos (thinking they were going to be healthy). Turns out that I should have gotten something else, but I am still proud of myself for trying to make a healthy choice. I'll do a better job in the future.
I noticed that I miscalculated what I needed to lose per week on the 40 lbs down challenge. It ends at the end of September, not the beginning so I need to lose a little under 3 lbs a week.
Like I said before, any loss is a win. Hopefully, today's oversight will motivate me to exercise tomorrow!

I'm doing well now that I'm back to eating healthy. I'm haven't done much exercise as of yet. I need to get on top of that...
I've been doing some calculating for the 40 lbs to lose by September challenge. That is an average of 4 lbs a week! I'm not sure if I can keep up that level of intensity with the stresses of moving across country and beginning grad school both falling in that time. Also, I've got thyroid issues to consider. I have decided to still stay on the challenge. I think the group might help me stay motivated towards my weight loss goals. Anyway, any loss is a win, right?
I've also assigned prizes for each of my mini goals. They mostly involve books and clothes. I'll post more specifics once I better define my upcoming goals.
