The kitchen renovation, and my knee surgery have had me completely out of whack for way too long! Not to mention the holidays…After a few unsettling weeks and a terrible snowstorm, I have reeled myself back in and today i am feeling positive and grateful.

We demo’d our kitchen 10/8 and the goal was to have the new one in by Christmas…As of today here’s where it sits. Appliances and countertops are on the schedule for tomorrow. Fingers crossed that I’ll be able to cook in my kitchen soon. 🤞🏻

Last Thanksgiving I was sick with COVID and I spent the day in bed. I spent hours on video chat with my Dad who was battling cancer and also my sister who had recently been hospitalized with liver and kidney failure. They both live out of state, and we only had a screen to connect us.
I ate frozen cauliflower pizza and slept. I missed out on the family feast and seeing my kids and grandkids.
My mind goes back to my time with my sister. I did not know then that she would be gone weeks later. I was so worried about losing my dad that I never thought it possible to lose my baby sister.
This year my Dad is doing well and he is in remission, but my heart aches to hear my sister’s voice again.
Be thankful for the ones you hold dear. Hug them tighter and love them harder and tell them how much you care. I will be doing this today as I eat the feast, laugh with my family and cherish the moments and memories we make today.
