I've been reading a lot lately. It's such a blessing. I finished Michael Matthews book, 'Thinner, Leaner, Stronger for Women' on Saturday. I wanted to plan out my workout plan, since every time I go into the gym I realize that I have no plan and no idea what anything is or how to develop muscle. I am your average idiot in a gym and I hate my ignorance. So, I read his book...finally. It's been on my bookshelf for over 3 years. So, I've printed out my plan. I know the exercises, including reps and sets, etc... to journal for progression. I plan to start tomorrow morning. Going forward, I will work up to 5 days, with 2 days of cardio (biking and rowing). I have to stay off my foot and allow it to heal before I can continue my walking.

Here’s a beautiful poem by Charles Thomas (C.T.) Studd:
Only One Life
Two little lines I heard one day,
Traveling along life’s busy way;
Bringing conviction to my heart,
And from my mind would not depart;
Only one life, ’twill soon be past,
Only what’s done for Christ will last.
Only one life, yes only one,
Soon will its fleeting hours be done;
Then, in ‘that day’ my Lord to meet,
And stand before His Judgment seat;
Only one life,’ twill soon be past,
Only what’s done for Christ will last.
Only one life, the still small voice,
Gently pleads for a better choice,
Bidding me selfish aims to leave,
And to God’s holy will to cleave;
Only one life, ’twill soon be past,
Only what’s done for Christ will last.
Only one life, a few brief years,
Each with its burdens, hopes, and fears;
Each with its days I must fulfill,
Living for self or in His will;
Only one life, ’twill soon be past,
Only what’s done for Christ will last.
When this bright world would tempt me sore,
When Satan would a victory score;
When self would seek to have its way,
Then help me Lord with joy to say;
Only one life, ’twill soon be past,
Only what’s done for Christ will last.
Give me Father, a purpose deep,
In joy or sorrow Thy word to keep;
Faithful and true what e’er the strife,
Pleasing Thee in my daily life;
Only one life, ’twill soon be past,
Only what’s done for Christ will last.
Oh let my love with fervor burn,
And from the world now let me turn;
Living for Thee, and Thee alone,
Bringing Thee pleasure on Thy throne;
Only one life, “twill soon be past,
Only what’s done for Christ will last.
Only one life, yes only one,
Now let me say, “Thy will be done”;
And when at last I’ll hear the call,
I know I’ll say ’twas worth it all”;
Only one life,’ twill soon be past,
Only what’s done for Christ will last.
This powerful poem reminds us of the brevity of life and the eternal impact of our choices. It echoes the life of the apostle, Paul's life and his motivations, his assessment of what was valuable and then conformed his actions--looking forward, amidst all the daunting adversity and ultimate death by Nero, to stand before the Beema Seat (Romans 12) of Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:1-10
With all the choices we make in our daily lives, which choices and actions will last 10, 100, 1,000, 10,000 and more years? What will you be doing? What am I going to think - what is Christ going to think - was I a good or bad steward, in this life?
