Not sure why the scale isnt moving, because I am definitely moving! Getting a little discouraged as I am working really hard and want to be under 200lbs before the end of summer. I havent been that small in almost 8 years. Maybe I need to increase my water intake, maybe just accept that I will be a slow loser and not get to upset because clothes fit better and muscle weighs more than fat. I have added some aerobic exercise and light muscle training to my routine. I am not sleeping well though, wake up at 4am every morning like an alram is going off in my head. My calories are under my RDI and my fat, protien, carb ratio is where it should be. I will stay the course and move my butt more and see if I cant get this jiggle off. Just feeling a bit at a loss why I am not showing a loss.

First, google "why the scale lies" for insight in to water weight. When you first start a new exercise or change the old one, your muscles can temporarily retain water making the scale stay the same, gain or small loss. It will go away when your muscles get used to the new exercise. It actually takes woman many weeks/months of hard work to gain an actual pound. Muscle is more dense than fat and takes up a lot less room so you can lose fat and go down in sizes and not see the scale move much. Basically if you stick with it, you will start to see movement on the scale. Patience and persistence are two of the most important factors in weight loss. Your off to a great start.

I agree with Suzi, This same question was one I asked. Low and behold About a month after I was on my diet did I start seeing the scale drop. My clothes did get very loose during the time I saw no scale change. Check your measurements :) drink lots of water! I found that is a major key. If your fingers swell or your feet swell.... You are NOT consuming enough water.I also noticed your caloric intake.. If your drinking enough H2o, staying active but not consistent with your calories Your body will mess with you, Frustrating but true. Switch out what your eating and stay just a bit over 1400 calories consistently. Also, Atkins products can stall you.(At least it did me after careful monitoring) Cheese (I love cheese)messed with me, so I cut it down. All these things worked for me. After tweaking my food and eating more I all of a sudden saw a rapid weight loss. Stay strong & remember the scale does lie...but it sure is nice to see SOMETHING!! It will happen. Stay true.

I looked at your food journal first and then your weight history. Then I came here to find that everything has been said already. I would have suggested the same, up your calories a little bit. And,you are losing weight, 1 lbs a week.Be patient! Try not to weigh in too often, it fluctuates and a lot of times it shows a higher weight than you expect. Step on the scale the next day and it is down. It's just an average, shows a tendency of what is happening.
