A journey, is not a journey, if there is no movement. It's just standing still. I will not remain the same or take zero as an accomplishment. I have cleaned the slate too many times.

Determination to understand myself and this way of eating, and new lifestyle...well, that has been quite the journey. And I have successfully lost and maintained the loss of 65lbs over the course of 18 months.

I am coming up on my two year anniversary on this site. And more than anything, I have come to the conclusion that I am LIVING my ups and downs - not dieting thru them.

My changes have been, and continue to be...permanent.

Whether it is my food choices, my exercise choices or my thought process - it all comes down to how I honor my original decision to change.

Personal choice. I have the liberty to gain it all back if I want to.

I do not.

So, there you have it. That's the definition of success - for me.

Today I choose to live a lifestyle that keeps me healthy!

Much Love.

"I have come to the conclusion that I am LIVING my ups and downs - not dieting thru them." This is a great statement! Be proud of the 65 pounds you're maintaining- that, in itself defies the statistics. I always thought the transition from "dieting" to "living" would be much more sharply defined that it actually is.

Great journal. This is a lifestyle and not a diet. Diet to me means a beginning and an end. The only time it will end is when my life has ended.

Awesome journal and absolutely true - what an incredible journey and SUCH an accomplishment that you have been keeping the weight off for so long and have made the lifestyle changes to keep it off for GOOD!! :)

thanks guys! truth be told - we all have a measure of that same success. When I really think about it - I'd rather have it this way, than to have dropped it all - and two years later be back at my higher weight! oh, I might cry loudly over two or three pounds in either direction, but I have not gone above my threshold without immediately bringing it back down. I have spun my wheels often enough to figure out I can change the things I can change...and not the things I can't. I can't change what I weigh today. But I can change whether I will weigh the same a week from now! That's some wisdom right there!!!
