I am drinking kombucha and eating saurkraut, kimchi, and other fermented foods. I may ask my doctor to suggest or prescribe a probiotic next week at my appointment.

I like Kimchi and kombucha, but I'm a little weird. Kimchi is spicy fermented cabbage and kombucha is a low calorie effervescent soda or fermented tea and the flavor varies A LOT from brand to brand depending on their SCOBY (symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast) starter or "mother." Try KeVita's Master Brew kombucha. I had the raspberry lemon, and it's the best tasting one I've tried so far. Nutritional yeast kind of tastes like cheese! I sprinkle it on salads and grains, too. And, contrary to a common misconception, eating mushrooms and nutritional yeast is fine on the Candida diet.

I'm surprise you haven't seen kefir. Have you explored farmers markets, co-ops, or health food stores in your area? I get my live food from the community co-op, and they not only have national brands but local, too. Make sure any live food you buy is and always stays refrigerated! Sauerkraut off the pantry (room temp) shelf does't have any live cultures in it -- it's been pasteurized.

I added you back. :) I've thought about trying to make my own, but my secondary fermenter is full of beer for my dad right now, ha. If you try making kombucha, please share! I'd love to learn from your experience.
