Lucky me...my husband is a non-conformist! What the heck does that mean? - It means we won't be doing anything special for Valentine's. He doesn't like the 'pressure' of being told when to say I love you! He doesn't like the commercialism of it all, he doesn't like to get overpriced flowers, or fight crowds at a restaurant, or 'waste' money on some expensive piece of jewelry, just because some ad on TV tells him he should!
Lucky me! LOL!!
HOWEVER - I will say, he picks his battles wisely! Some time in the coming days or weeks, he will surprise me. And I will likely get all of the above, or some equivalent - but it will be of his choosing, at his timing, and when he decides he wants to participate! LOL!!!
I kinda like not knowing when it will be coming. And I kinda like surprises. I think every person is different, and he is definitely not a 'gifts' kind of person. He is much more receptive to feeling loved by the 'things I do for him' than by the things I buy for him.
I am more of a gifts person! ;) And even though it took more than 20 years for him to figure this out... he is getting much better at it! ;)
