The time to lose weight has passed and the time to get toned has arrived. Working out with small kids in the house is like eating pudding with a fork; it's not impossible but it is a pain in the a**.
I am on Day 4 of my 12 week program and yesterday was the first day they focused on glutes. Which would have been a lot easier had I not fallen down the stairs and broke my a** more than a month ago. This produced a large lump on my posterior. It took a few weeks to get in with the Doc to see what it was and I tried, in the meantime, to learn what it was on my own. Searching for any buttocks related issue at the beginning of the year will only produce a variety of exercises to give you the butt you've always wanted; which I find strange as I don't think you can switch the one you have out for another. Anyway, I often find when doing internet searches that if you word if differently, you may find what you're looking for. Do yourself a favor and avoid googling "lumpy a**." (SPOILER ALTERT: It's a hematoma)
Anyway, working on my glutes for the first time in ages was unpleasant to say the least. That area already hurts from that sexy stair lump I developed, but I managed to get through it. I noticed that a number of days in the program require the use of a hanging bar; which I do not have. I found one on CL for $10 in an area where a friend live (she's picking it up for me today and I hope to have it before I need it again). In the mean time, I must have looked like a lunatic hanging from the banister on my stairs (clearly I haven't learned my lesson).
This program is designed in 4 phases that consist of 5 gentle workouts a week; which I will be doing M-F. It seems that gentle means lots of yoga, which I don't care for. I'm going to tough through it because I know that there is no chance of getting rid of my c-section shelf with an abdominal split and I HATE lose skin. Because I'm not familiar with yoga poses (Yes, that means I don't like it without ever having tried it; just like lima beans.), I've been looking them up on youtube. And almost every video I come across has a voice over of a stoned sounding hippie saying "namaste." They keep on using that word, I do not think it means what they think it means.
