Took the big white boy to the vet for second time in a month. His skin has been getting blacker and blacker and we are suspecting a food allergy. Now she thinks it may have a yeast infection. We try so hard to give the best possible care to these little darlings and still life happens. He is on medication for 30 days as well as medicated shampoo every other day for next 30 days and already it seems he is a little better. Don’t think it is serious but waiting on blood test results and fecal. $400 for the privilege of this visit on top of the $300 last month. I had a chat with my little furry kids about how staying healthy is much cheaper than not then it occurred to me that applies to humans on a vastly different scale. I have reduced my medication down to HRT and occasional migraine meds in past 18 months with this health journey. No more thyroid meds, pulmonary meds nor sleeping meds (hydroxizine used off label tho it didnt help nearly enough). That alone is significantly cheaper let alone not buying processed foods. Im guessing over $2000 a year just in co-pays i dont have to pay anymore.. so, takeaway, being healthy has benefits outside the physical into the financial as well!!!!!!! That is a win win in any book.

Katsolo she put him on purina pro salmon for sensitive skin and stomach. Currently the medication he is on seems to be making him really tired and loss of appetite which is concerning. The side effects of the medication are very serious and frankly have me nervous for him but thankfully it’s only for 30 days. It is definitely helping with his itching tho.

Writingwyo-funny, i didnt know all caps was a bad thing years ago and got berated by our cfo on an email. So then i sent everything out with all caps with a disclaimer that im old and blind because i can read all caps better. Which is true…😂

Charlieloveschaplin-he is better in one way but super tired and no appetite now from the medication i think. Just have to get thru a few weeks of this and hopefully he gets healed and we go back to life without medical drama😂

Beautiful sis, I am doing pretty well. Still trying to figure this full time job and full time everything else out. And yes, very much looks like rain, with a side of wind🧐🤣😅

Annamommy i remember being your age and the juggle of a child and full time job. If i remember correctly it was 18-25 years of exhaustion😂

It was a trial at first. When I found Pinky she was a young puppy, one day before Thanksgiving. She had the taco smell on her paws, yeast infection. She broke in hives, itching. She’s allergic to pollen as well. The vet suggested Abquel (mis-spelling)suggested more fiber meals. Went with Farmers Dog food, the food helped. I forget the shot she takes every six months or so. Pinky is good now.

Hi it was a process of elimination but I also found out Pinky ate poop, that added to her itching. So we watch her, she gets anxiety attacks.
