Feeling very stressed out right now. The farther I go into “trying to” fix my relationship with food, the more I feel it’s just getting worse. I keep seeing connections between how I treat food now and the patterns that built it to be like that in my childhood, but am not sure how to fix them.

Journaling has helped me solve complex problems rooted in my past. Paying attention to patterns of emotions that you notice surrounding food choices and eating can help identify beliefs you are holding onto that no longer serve you. Getting in touch with your emotions will point the way. Getting curious about where they came from and the meanings you've assigned to your thoughts will help you solve problems you can't yet see clearly.

One day at a time. It’s great you’re recognizing these things you see in yourself. Don’t feel like you have to solve it all in a day. Unity1234 has a the right idea with journaling. It really helps when you can get it out somehow.

T3r3sa7, yes and thank you! Journaling has helped me tremendously. I realize it's not for everyone but sometimes it is hard to get the ideas out of my head long enough to really bring them clearly into focus. I don't know if that makes sense but writing helps me hold onto thoughts long enough to allow me to be clear on the meaning I've assigned them.

I completely understand and empathize! It is hard to find our way back to healthy eating patterns... But we need to keep on trying if we want to get there 🙂🤗
