This is my first post/comment since I started FC back in 2018, sorry if it's going to be a little long. I've been heavy all my life 56 years old know, by the late 90's I ballooned to 540 lbs. I went through a gastric bypass in 2000, went down to 320.lbs. felt great went off disability 6 months after surgery I was a courier by trade so went back on the road and went back to my old habits eating junk and sweets all day needleless to say I went back up in weight by 2010 I was back up to 420.lbs. I stayed around that weight for the next 10 years, became pre diabetic in 2013, type 2 in 2016. in 2018 I found FS and decided to track my calories and after 3 yrs. I dropped down to around 370-380 Lbs. and lost interest in FS. At this point I was sedentary until June 1st of this year (372.lbs.) I had it out with my doctor over a medication and decided to change my life. Around Feb of this year, I started watching the you tube vids on keto/carnivore, but was on the fence, so after the argument with my doc on June 1sy I decided I was all in, I came home from his office and went through my kitchen pantry a got rid of everything with sugar and flour away, for the next 1 1/2 weeks I had zero sugar and zero carbs and lost 18. Lbs, 372 to 354 and it didn't bother me. Then for the next 2 mornings when I awoke and stood up my head starting spinning, did some research and realized It was a symptom of the keto flu/Carb withdrawal. Before June 1st I was eating around 500-600 carbs a day and half were from sugar. So, I changed course and weened myself of sugar over a 10-day period I was down to 0 carbs 0 sugar and was fine this was on July 20 And I decided to go keto/vore to kickstart my keytones and lost30.lbs. in 2 months today sitting at 312.lbs, and the best part is my daily glucose readings went down from a daily average around 175-190 to 123-135 today with no help from medication at all, after my argument with my doctor I stopped all medication. I told my doctor on July 1st what I was doing and he seemed ok with it.
