There's loads of good videos on YouTube. Essentially, you want to make meals in large batches on one day, that will last you throughout the week. They should be easily reheatable, not spoil too easily, and portioned out. Take the time to choose foods that meet your targets (eg. lots of protein, fibre, veggies etc). For example, a nice steak burrito bowl for lunch every day for the next week. You might buy all your ingredients on Sunday, and allocate and hour or two to cook and prepare your food. Cook everything, portion it out into tupperware or something. Pop them into the fridge so they don't spoil (depending on what you're cooking, you can also freeze some things), then when you're ready to eat, reheat in the microwave. Otherwise, you can just cook large batches of separate foods to put together into meals whenever you feel like it. Eg rice, pasta, beef mince, stir fried veggies etc. Pretty simple. Don't overthink it. I have a magnetic whiteboard on my fridge. On Saturdays, I plan out meals and snacks for the week, then go shopping for anything I need. Sunday I do a combo of chopping the veg, either in sticks for snacks, or tiny cubes for cooking, then i cook up a large omelette which I cut to serving size. The veg for cooking goes into containers with a bit of water. I pre-make salads minus dressing, and i don't cut the cherry tomatoes until time to eat. Meal prep feels daunting at first, but gets easier and can actually become fun-never thought I'd say that! 🤣💚

I plan my fortnight meals in advance. I make sure I have a mix of meat, seafood, eggs and vegetarian meals plus one take away. I then shop to those meals. It saves money and I know in advance what I am cooking. I cook everything from scratch including curries, bread, jams etc as I love cooking. Choose simple meals if you are not a cook. Good luck

Great suggestions here. I would first ask, why are you meal prepping? Is it for you or a whole family? Is it to save time or to help you plan? Or is it a bit of both? I live alone but have family and boyfriend over during the week on different days. I plan my meals ahead for a week and shop to that (as the others have mentioned) I rarely use prepped meals for dinner as I like to cook something as a way of winding down after work. Work lunches are my thing. In winter I cook up a storm of curries and soups every weekend and freeze them as well as pre made toasties so that I have a variety of tasty, healthy, hot meals to grab each morning and don’t buy anything. In summer I make a couple of days of salads in advance. Until the prices went crazy recently I would buy a cooked chook each Sunday and make sandwiches to freeze and salads for 3 days and then just add a different protein source and dressing each day. Tonight, Thursday, I’m making zucchini quiche to have with salad for tea and lunch tomorrow. It will probably last through until lunch Saturday as well. Good luck and let us know how you get on 😀
