I think I might hate dogs. At least, my parents' dogs.

I've been house/dogsitting for them while they're on vacation and I'm about to jump out of a window. I haven't slept in about 3 days now. They won't let me. I think they plot on me when I'm at work. They take shifts jumping on me or barking randomly when I try to sleep. My eyes are burning from lack of rest. My body is numb. I am a broken shell of a man.

That is all.

Lock them out of the room that you sleep in, or lock them in their own room while you sleep. I have been there. I understand the insanity that results. :-)

Sorry to hear about your petsitting. However, taking dogs for walks is great exercise. :) Hang in there! Yum, coffee.

I already tried locking them out. The screeches that come from them when I'm not within eyesight are demonic. And this is in the super boonies. You can't walk small dogs there if you want them to make it back.

I suggest throwing them and a large bowl of kibble into an alternate universe for the duration of your parents' absence. Sure, they might be abducted by aliens but that would not be your fault. And you would sleep. Blissfully.

AHHH! I would be totally freaked out at that house, but you know how I feel about being in the middle of nowhere, and being in the dark. My suggestion would be lock them in the room furthest away from you, invest in ear plugs, maybe take some tylenal PM, and get a goodnight's sleep!!! I worry about you sometimes, ya know. Not sleeping enough, exercising too much, etc. :) Keep me posted on how it goes. I start dog sitting again on the 13th of July- 25th of July. Yippee!

aww :( without sounding really stupid what does the boonies mean? why would your dogs not come back?

The boonies is a catch phrase used to describe a location that is serioulys "in the middle of nowhere" So if your house was 30km outside of a small town, and you had to go through a lot of nothing to get there, you could say "I live out in the boonies"

I've done city life for far too long and am moving into a town four miles wide! Yay for the boonies!

It's not that I don't like them (or vice versa), they've been around long enough that I used to live in the same house as the doggies. I guess they're freaked out that my parents' left since they've never been away from them for more than 8 hours at a time. I actually had to take one of them to the vet yesterday and board her until my parents come back because she hadn't ate in 2+ days.

Oh, and I bought 3 fireworks yesterday for a total of $120. That's right, just 3. These are big boom-booms. I expect them to explode someones eardrums at the very least.
