I started a keto diet on the 27th June. Didn't track food to begin with, but eventually got around to weighing and logging my foods. Tried MyFitnessPal, chronometer and FatSecret. Found FatSecret to be the best so I deleted the other apps. I hope I can stick with it for the long term. I have not tried dieting seriously my entire life, and mostly just ate mindlessly whatever was in front of me. This has to change due to health issues including elevated blood pressure that has already gone back to normal since starting the diet.

I am doing keto at the moment. Regardless of whether I lose weight I am not so bloated and feel better. I wish you well on your journey

I am excactly the same. I have never dieted and have just bought my first scales. what an eye opener that was! Now for the battle to get the weight off.

Careful on keto. Its not a forever diet, meaning you will have to start eating normally (ie carbs) eventually, different timing for everyone. The only thing that matters for fat loss is kilojoule/calore defecit. Keto to me adds an unessasary health risk. Just my 2 cents and im not a doctor, which i would recommend anyone see before they go onto any diet, but defenetly before keto.

Diets won't really help you let's be honest. you need to speak to a nutritionist and change the way you eat long term(or do your own research - heads up there is a a lot to take in). No point dieting if your just gonna put the weight back on later.

I’ll be going keto on Monday. Last time I did it for 3 weeks before falling pregnant and found it was fantastic for me. The first week feels pretty rubbish though I’ll admit but once you get past the “keto flu” it’s all good from there.

Keto is hard to maintain and most people fall of the keto wagon relatively quickly and regain the weight. Changing the way you eat long term is a lifestyle change, not a diet, rather than restricting what you can and can't eat simply downsize your portions, only eat when you are hungry and stop as soon as you start feeling full, eat at a table instead of in front of the tv, computer, whatever distracts you to eat mindlessly, focus on your meal and you'll start to recognise when your body is full.
