I believe I've reached my wits end at this point, so I suppose a little bit of electronic accountability isn't necessarily a bad thing. With a family history of diabetes and heart disease, I'm eager to avoid following in the footsteps of my loved ones, so I've been pretty careful. I purchased a gym membership in March and have been going 3-4 times a week for at least an hour. I can feel certain body parts trimming down, but my weight has increased incrementally so I'm 5 pounds heavier now than I was when I started. I doubt that's muscle tone.
I've been trying to track every meal, every snack. I weigh portions. I cut soda from my diet. My major indulgence these days is the creamer I add to my solitary cup of coffee in the morning. Maybe it's just a side effect of age that I don't metabolize like I used to, but I figured I'd have a little more time.
No more excuses. Something's got to give, and it needs to stop being my waistline.
