Good morning fatsecreters!!!

No gain and no loss this week, not even by 0.1 pounds. Honestly, I've very content. I found out last weekend that my BMR is 1450, so I increased my daily caloric intake. I was eating very little, around 1250 sometimes, and was finding myself feeling ill. I would get nauseous, felt like I needed to hurl, and just felt icky inside. My brother is also losing weight and explained to me that BMR is the number of calories I need to consume so that my organs work at 100%. I guess since I was eating less than my BRM, my organs were not working at their 100%, which explains why I would feel sick at times.

The good thing is that my occupational therapy is going very well and I might be able to start working out again soon. I miss jogging sooooooo much! I'll be so happy when I my body gets back to that point! Especially since I just raised by calories by about 200 per day.

Have a great day, everyone!! Keep at it and stay focused. :)

You're in control! :) Yeah, your BMR excludes any physical activity. It's basically what you consume when you're sleeping I think :) It's not ideal to always eat that amount of calories because, even though our fat reserves will protect us from immediate problems, you will possibly not feel the same vitality and, in the long term, the low calories might also mean low protein, low fiber, vitamins or minerals, which would lead to malnutrition. I find it strange that you had those symptoms if you haven't been depriving yourself for a long time though :P

Well, it's been a few months. Honestly, since I raised the daily caloric intake to what's recommended per the BMR, I feel much better. I think I'll manage. I'm okay with no longer losing as much... as long as I keep losing! That's the key. And it's a much better lifestyle. I love that I don't get nauseous anymore!

I think a few months definitely qualify as a long time heheh :) But what's important is that you're ok now! :) Exactly! You took the words right out of my mind. The pace is not important. As long as the weight is either maintaining or going down (or alternating between the two), or even if it fluctuates but goes down in the long term, that's the only thing that matters! :) It's definitely better if we make it not a sacrifice! This way, you are going in the right direction while still enjoying yourself, which is very important motivation-wise :)
