Weight: Maintaining
Blood pressure: 130/58
Blood sugar average for past month: 109
A1C: 6.7 (down from 8)
One month one day soda free
Complete overhaul of diet
Exercise: 3-4 times a week
Look of astonishment on my doctor's face: freakin' PRICELESS! :D

Went back to the doctor today for my one month follow up. Sadly, I have not lost any weight, but at least I have not gained. (cup have full and what-not) When my doctor asked if I knew what my blood sugar had been running, I pulled out my phone, and thanks to my app, I had an average sugar level for the past month, and a log of every single reading I had done. She was impressed. She also loved hearing that I was a month soda free, and had started doing water aerobics, and keeping an online food journal and blog.

She drew blood so she could see what my A1C was. Once she had the results, she called me back to let me know it had dropped for 8 to 6.7 in a month! She hugged me, and told me she was so very proud of me, and the way I was turning my life around, and that I should be proud of myself. I started crying, because I have NEVER had a doctor tell me that. She said she has never had a diabetic patient come back, and make the types of accomplishments I had in only a month.

So even tho I hadn't lost any weight, it was still a very good doctor's appt. I should know by next week how my cholesterol levels are. Hopefully since giving up junk, fried foods, and other nasty things, it's gone down as well. :)

I missed water aerobics the past two days due to therapist, and doctor appts. I am looking forward to getting back into the pool. I love how free I am in the water. It dawned on me the other day, that I had been jogging in the water for almost 15 mins. There is no way I could do that out of the water. I doubt I could last five mins. I feel so much better and lighter (if that makes sense) once I complete a class.
