I gave myself a little break from logging my food for 10 days and relied on intuitive eating to see how I felt about it. It simply reinforced that I'm not the type who can trust my body for hunger cues or eat without logging. The scale went back up 2 pounds - I know I didn't actually gain 2 lbs of fat in 10 days but I still hate to see the number go back up. It's too easy for me to snack, overeat and make poor food choices when I'm not holding myself accountable with my food log!

I've been busy with work. I'm way more exhausted than I was before my 6 month furlough. I find myself feeling stressed, exhausted, short fused, cranky and unhappy at work. I still put on my best customer service attitude but it's hard. Wearing a mask is okay, although my ears start to hurt by day 3 of my work week. I've noticed a majority of my coworkers are also feeling fatigued, burnt out and unhappy at work. Our industry is tough enough on a normal day but adding in all the new procedures and policies, being mask and sanitizer police with our guests, the uncertainty of our jobs surviving another shut down plus the potential covid exposure is making it harder for everyone.

I've been able to go hiking a handful of times and that's definitely my happy place. I'll be pulling my recumbent bike out again in hopes that regular cardio activity will help my mental and physical stress.

Here are a few photos from my most recent hike. October is my favorite month and I was thrilled to get to check out the foliage. I redid two hikes I had already completed. I was so impressed and pleased with how much easier they felt this time around! My stamina and endurance have really come a long way!

Oh my goodness! How stunningly beautiful! I agree they are magazine worthy! I too am sort of tied into logging very regularly. It might be a crutch, but I've got a food limp. I am sorry your days are so hard and stressful. Everything about 2020 is feeling so miserable for so many. Does it help the ears to connect the loops with a band around the back of your head? I've seen lots of people do that. They hurt my ears too, but I don't havt to wear one all day long... Day after day. Hang in there, girl!

Sadly, My body can’t be trusted either. 😔 When I was on my “see food” diet I would be hungry right after eating 😲

I totally understand the need to log to keep it all in check. i'm sorry youre stressed at work, and agreed it's happening with all my coworkers as well. good thing youre able to get out and hike to enjoy your happy space!
