I'm always surprised when I can guess something pretty accurately without having to log the calories first and be on target.

Take today, I had a pretty big (a little odd sure) breakfast at home because I knew I was going for a workout and would need the calories. I went into the city afterwards for a matinee and ended up stopping for a sandwich and then out to dinner. There was a time when two meals out would've killed me calorie wise but I know enough now that I was able to grab things, estimate the calories pretty decently and find that I was fine when I logged it for real. That's always pretty cool.

I'm guessing I did an hour of slow walking on the way to the show between subways and actual walking. I don't know how accurate that is but I'm not going to sweat it since I did do a real workout this morning. On that topic, I think I need to stop jogging for a while. My shin is hurting again and I had to slow down a LOT. Anything with a lot of impact hurts it, like my jubiliant jumping up and down when I fit into things last night (yes, I'm a dork.) I guess I could focus on core strengthening for the next week and see what happens. Maybe I'll go back to biking, I love the feeling of jogging but not when it hurts and I think I keep aggrevating the injury.

I think I'm still recovering from the past month if that makes any sense. Getting into the city to see a show with a friend was a good start for that. We didn't like the show as it was disturbing (and not in a good way) but we did catch sight of a guy in a pink speedo in the middle of Times Square trying to raise money for breast cancer. (Seriously, only in New York.).

Oh, did I mention I'm wearing my really pretty velvet embellished jeans from NY & Company? For the first time in two years! Kind of exciting for me. I feel so thin lol. Anyway, going to chill for a bit and maybe get to bed earlyish.

Affirmations for today:
1) I need to give myself time to recover from an injury and shouldn't keep pushing myself through pain

2) It's perfectly normal to need time to adjust to changes in my life. I don't need to beat myself up over it.

3) Change your thoughts, change your habits, change your mind, change your body, change your life.

It's always great looking at food and knowing which stuff is the 'bad stuff' and which stuff is not. I didn't used to have a clue, until I started logging food. Congrats on wearing the jeans! What was the show about & why did you find it disturbing?

I saw The Scottsboro Boys which is basically based on the real life case of 9 black boys falsely convicted of rape in the 1930s. It was done as a mistral show and featured a number about the electric chair (not kidding) and a pretty offensive song about Jews. I get they were TRYING to be like Cabaret but it fell short.
