Sometimes plans change and you have to roll with it.

For example, this morning my plans were to go to work, leave a little early (since I'm over and not allowed overtime without special permission), come home and jog tonight, go to a meeting for a school thing tomorrow and then go to see a show on Sunday. (Yes, I got broadway tickets again, lol - it's my addiction.)

Then I got asked to go work tomorrow. Now, this is a big deal. As I've said above, I'm not allowed overtime without permission but we're coming up on a big deadline at work so I have what seems to be pretty free reign for overtime until November 18th. Time and a half for overtime is a really high hourly rate, so one of the things I promised to myself when I got this job was that if I was ever offered overtime I wouldn't turn it down. I was living on unemployment for most of the last year so my savings (before I started in July) were pretty much depleted. Yes, I do go for massages and to broadway shows but 1) that's AFTER I started working at this job and 2) I get good deals (particularly on the shows.) I was pretty much desperately broke at times over the last year before I started this job. As I've said before my situation is kind of uncertain right now, I don't know if they'll extend me or what will happen after the end of the year. I figure working at least a few hours tomorrow will help with that because it'll carry some favor with the boss (who will also be in) and will pad my savings account (in case I end up unemployed again.) Win win really.

That of course, means that my schedule is going to change a bit now for the weekend. Still going to the show on Sunday (I have tickets to Scottsboro Boys, so freaking excited about that!) but I'm going to rest tonight (since I'm already tired) and probably only do like yoga or something later, skip the school meeting tomorrow afternoon (I'll get the minutes), and go to work instead. Pick up a few hours of OT tomorrow and take it as it comes.

Affirmations for today:
1) Changes in plans don't always have to be bad, I can adjust as I need to.

2) Change your thoughts, change your habits, change your mind, change your body, change your life.

The economic situation in the country is pretty alarming. It doesn't hurt to hedge your bets.
