So last Thursday I was having a tough day. I felt totally unmotivated and not really like doing anything at all, good or bad. I decided not to stress over it this weekend and I ate what I wanted and didn't really track much except in my head. I didn't go crazy or anything, I still ate my normal foods for the most part because that is what I wanted to eat and I know what calories are in stuff so I didn't just eat everything. I just didn't stress about doing it right or doing it at all. This is a new lifestyle for me and that means days of ups and downs and all arounds and not always doing everything I want to every day. I got on the elyptical on Friday night before I went out dancing with my friends (and drinking a lil too ;) ) and I kept my appointment with my friend at the gym. Seems my lil bit of drinking was probably more than I really thought...and I was kinda dragging on Saturday. hehe Anyway, I got to the gym, worked out, felt great afterwards, and was glad I went. It was a crazy busy weekend with all kinds of activitites and games and stuff going on but I just did what I needed to do without stressing over losing weight. I woke up this morning not really feeling well and got on the scale. It had been staying the same for over a week and this weekend even went up a little bit. The scale was back to exactly where I was last week but I was glad for that. I didn't gain any weight with my little excursion off the path and I feel more focused and ready to keep on moving forward toward my goals.

I am going to the gym tonight :) and I have made a new goal to RUN a 5k. I could easily walk one right now but I want to be able to run. I am going to start training. I think my son and daughter may even do it with me and that makes me very very happy :)

So, thank you to all of my buddies who have supported me through my ups and downs so far and thank you for always knowing how to make me feel better. :) I look forward to celebrating reaching my goals with you too!

I'm trying to work my way up to running 5k too. If you haven't already done so, google "couch to 5k" its a great program. Good Luck

Couch to 5k works. I did it a couple of years ago, having never run a day in my life and starting out at well over 200 pounds. Like the old cliche goes, if I can do it, anyone can!

I have heard of C25k and that is actually what we want to use. My hubbie is going to join me and I am excited. I just haven't had the time to reallylook at it all yet. I have been working out and doing the eliptical at home this week :)

Only advice I have for you here is to listen to your body. You're not as heavy as me so you may not have the same problem I did, but I gave jogging a try somewhat prematurely & ended up with a sprained knee. Fortunately it wasn't severe so it healed relatively quickly, but lesson learned nonetheless. At this point I'm back to jogging, but I'm only doing a little bit - 15 min on treadmill including warmup & cooldown - & finishing on elliptical. I am finding that even now I occasionally feel some soreness all over the following day, which I guess is not surprising since it's so jarring. But again, you're not as heavy as I am, so I am hoping you really enjoy it! I created my own plan loosely based on C25K & it's wonderful. Good luck!!!
