Jornal de suechru, 02 set 10

I'm starting to get sick of the 30 day challenge.

I think it's because squats hurt today and it always seems like there's some exercise in it I have to where I'm still sore and is torture. Or maybe, I miss being able to mix things up more. Yes, it's far more strength training than I'm used to but I miss the sheer endorphin rush from a good half hour of cardio. I don't have tons of time these days and the weather really doesn't permit outdoor exercise (which is my favorite). It's in the high 90s here and there's a hurricane coming my way (I'm in the northeast and under a tropical storm watch from Hurricane Earl.)

I want to finish this challenge to say I've done it but there's no way in hell I'm going to rush into it again, since I miss the outdoor stuff. Of course, the weather also has to cooperate for that.

Wore a pair of pants I haven't fit into in about a year to work today, along with a shirt that didn't fit last year and a ring that didn't fit and it felt good but damn, I just wish the scale would drop out of the 250s already. I know it's silly but that number is a big milestone for me. In my head, if I'm under 250 then I'm not "huge", I'm me with a few extra pounds. And yeah, I know there's no real logic in that. I know I've always been me, will always be me no matter what the scale says but that number is almost as significant to me as 200 is. I'm so damn close and I've been so damn close for two weeks now. Grr.

I know, practice kindness, practice patience. I know and whoever's going to reply and say that is completely right but man, I just want a teeny little loss. I'm tired and cranky today, I think that's part of it.

Congrats on getting smaller all around. I know the number battle all to well as I can't seem to hold onto losses when I dip below 200. But we can break these blocks. Good luck!

Just feeling frustrated lately, I'm not enjoying most of these workouts. I'm sore most of the time, I keep gaining and losing the same 2lbs and it does nothing to calm me at the end of the day. Frankly, I get pissed off usually and end up yelling and cursing at the tv. Dear god, why am I doing this stupid challenge again?

Maybe you are building muscle thats why your weight is going back and forth..are you drinking lots of water? I know exactly how you feel as far as being sore...I work out everyday and I am sore most of the time....but I can say it will get a little better with time! You are doing great stay on track....You can do it...Good luck!

Are you doing the squats correctly? Make sure your knees don't stick out over your toes.

If I drink anymore water my kidneys will shut down. I'm really not kidding, I can't be dehydrated, it's not possible with the amount of water I drink (I think I'm even underlogging it)

Hang in there! The weightloss will come. I promise. Mine did, not near as quickly as I wanted. It seemed like forever! All of the hard work is finally paying off. The first 20 are always so easy and then I slow down to a crawl and it seems like nothing is happening. If you are exercising as much as it sounds, you are definitely building muscle and that is so good!!! You will be reaping rewards soon. I hope you have taken measurements. If not, do it right now! Remeasure in a month and you will be very happy!

Oh, I don't plan on quitting exercise, just THIS specific thing. I need a break from doing EA Active. I want to go back to having days of yoga and cardio. I want to get back on my bike and out on trails. I miss the fresh air so much. At this point, this kind of program just is not for me. I can do 5 out of 7 days but 4 of them absolutely can not be THIS.

I can relate to wanting to finish something you started, but seriously, if I were in your shoes & it was making me miserable, I'd find something else to do. Like you said, you're not quitting exercise, just this particular one & I don't see anything wrong with that. The idea is to keep you physically active & doing something you hate isn't going to make that happen, so do what you gotta do, woman! This is why I don't participate in many of the challenges here, though I am invited to many. I prefer to set my own goals because things happen (like messing up your knee) & if I am committed enough to find a way to work around those things, I don't need this site telling me I've failed because I haven't. I'm entitled to change my mind & make adjustments when I think I need to so I do. And you should too. Hang in there hon.

Thanks, everyone! Feeling SO much better today, it's like a giant weight has lifted off my shoulders. Heading shopping after work because I need a good pair of running shoes and some belts, particularly as the one I'm wearing today is on the tightest setting.
