Today, I was told something shocking about a coworker. There's a beautiful young lady working here..
I was a bit annoyed when her husband (who works in another department) was hovering around her cubicle all day yesterday.. I never would tolerate something like that.. but it bothered me. So I went to her and asked what's that all about..
She replied, "oh nothing. He is just protective of me."
She was out today, and I overheard a couple of other women here talking about this young lady.. How they don't understand how she's with that guy. So, of course, I mentioned this incident.
To my surprise, they told me something that made my skin boil.
This girl is a size 2/4. 5'6. same height as me.. probably around 120 lbs.
Her husband controls what she eats, and he took her out on a "date" and told her she can't eat more than 700 calories.
We had a pizza party here at work yesterday (I was proud i didn't touch the pizza. i smelled it, though lol) And she was afraid to get a slice for herself, in case her husband saw her getting a slice. She asked one of the girls to get her a slice.
WOW, I just don't get it.

That's her problem. But, a friend of mine lost her husband several months ago. She was only allowed two meals a day and she had to weigh in front of him each day. She's never looked better or been happier in her life. Just saying, her problem.

I’d take this with a grain of salt. Second hand info. Beware of office gossip, I’m sure parts of this was twisted. And those talking about her, are likely talking about you. Careful! Just sayin!

Hopefully she will at some point realize this is not normal behavior. If he is controlling her food, he is likely controlling her via phone tracking (i.e. snapchat etc) and various other aspects of her life. My 19 y/o daughter's friend was dating a guy like this for 3 years before she FINALLY broke up. She knew it was not a healthy relationship, and was so embarrassed that she hid it from everyone except for her best friends (who were urging her to break up for years). I wish this woman the best. Hopefully she has some friends to confide in - another aspect of this kind of control is to close down all friendships.
