It's probably never a good idea to drink like six glasses of wine in 98 degree heat while you're sitting in the sun. Although, that IS what I did yesterday. A local vineyard had an event where you could basically relax in the vineyard, drink wine, picnic and then at night there were fireworks. It's one of my favorite things to do and I LOVE their wine. In fact, I know how much I love their wine that I budgeted for days to be able to have a few extra glasses.

Of course, I'm now retaining crazy amounts of water as my ankles are comically swollen this morning. I've been weighing in daily but I'm NOT doing it today. I know whatever number I'm going to see today is going to drive me mad and it's probably 95% due to water retention. I want to get off doing daily weigh-ins anyway.

So I'm now two weeks in officially and the results so far are interesting. Besides what the number on the scale (which is lower), I find I do have more energy to do various things around the house and go places. My complexion also seems to be clearing up, although I'm not sure if that's because my stress level has also declined.

The next week or so is going to be unusually busy with adjusting to the new job and the end of this summer class but it's good busy if that makes any sense.

I drank 2 glasses last night and I'm feeling dehydrated. The desert climate is tough to get used to. I'm sure it helped me cut back on drinking since every time I do, I wake up parched many times in the night. I only recently realized that it is indeed possible to have a bottle of wine last longer than one evening :). The event sounds fun. I usually weigh myself every day I go to the gym, but only record the lowest weights. I'm not overeating and I'm exercising, so I know I am not gaining fat. This is part of my "celebrate every victory" philosophy. Why stress about water weight and food in your belly weight. It is meaningless. That's my take on weighing in anyway. Glad you are feeling more energetic!

I love k8yks philosophy on "only the lowest number counts", as it served me very well when I used. it. Keep on keeping on! TOWANDA!

I, too, hold with K8's philosophy on the lowest weights. Unfortuneately, I posted a higher weight here. It will be the last time. Fat Secret shows that I have been gaining at some ungodly rate for weeks, when the reality is that I am on a plateau and bouncing up and down in about a 2 pound range. I know that I am eating right and have been increasing my activity so I know that I am doing very well and not adding fat. Scales DO LIE! ; )

Yeah, I felt like crap last night/this morning honestly. It was humid but way too hot to drink like that. Plus, I've cut back on my wine in general so it's kind of a shock to the system. I hesitate on the "only the lowest number counts" because I could see myself perverting that into something where I GAIN weight but still insist that I haven't, which is what I spent most of last year doing. I was mentally still 205 but my body clearly wasn't.

Talking about wine, I have not had a drink for a week, my weight has been steadily going down, but last night I had a few drinks, probaly about 5 std drinks here, but my points have been well under all week, so I had enough saved up to have a splurge. BUT at weighing in this morning I showed 600 g up, I know it's water retention, I could not possibly put on over 1/2 kilo of fat overnight, I'm ignoring the way in and hopefully I'm back to normal tomorrow.
