We come to the end of another year. I noticed I was getting fat (funny how that can creep up on you, no?) and declared war on July 4. The loss in the first month was substantial but I did not own a scale. On Aug. 9 I bought scale and started keeping a careful record. In 20 1/2 weeks, I shed 24.4 pounds, 1.2 per week average. The main thing it was steady down with sensible eating and lots of exercise. The more meaningful statistic to me was to go from 38 jeans being tight to 32 jeans now fitting loosely. My new goal for 2013 (by May 1) is to have 30 jeans being loose. It may take a good deal of exercise and effort to get there, I do not think much weight needs to be lost, perhaps 5 pounds.
