Hi Everyone,

Back from an absolutely wonderful vacation at an all inclusive (Excellence Resort Riviera Cancun). 30th anniversary and a very relaxing time. I ate and drank everything in sight. I did exercise 6 out of the 9 days and can't believe I'm up only 3 lbs. I'll take it because we consumed really rich foods three times a day plus a lot, a lot of beverages!

I need a vacation from my diet-obsessed self. Was Cancun ok after the hurricane? We're going to San Miguel de Allende for Thanksgiving and that day I intend to eat wonderful Northern Mexican dishes the whole time...carne seca...calabacitas...green corn tamales...fresh mashed avocados....oh good lord....

Cancun(metro) appeared to have no damage except for some of the resorts lost a few feet of beach. The resort where we stayed, which is located 30 miles south of Cancun , had some damage to the pier--absolutely no other damage. I couldn't believe how easy it was to throw caution to the hurricane and turn into Scarlet O'hara--I'll worry about that tomorrow!
