I feel like I have been trying to lose weight my whole life. I want to be healthy and feel good about myself so I wanted to try something different than what I've been doing. I decided that consuming 1000 calories or less a day would help. I've been doing that for a couple of days and it seems to be working. However, I did a little bit of research and was totally freaked out by the words "not enough nutrients", "starvation-mode", "muscle loss", "slower metabolism", "fat storage"...and the list seemed to go on and on. I really want to lose weight though so I think I'll keep my calories under 1500. I don't think that's too bad.
