Sick today with a Sinus infection. BG this morning was 132. That's pretty high! Also gained weight which could be retained water or caused by high insulin.

Day 6 on Fast5 - 114 on the glucose meter this morning! Had a tough time walking this morning. Made it thanks to my wife! Will be checking ketones this morning to see if my body has converted to using them yet. Right now I'm dumping 50mg/dl in the toilet. Drinking plenty of water to keep my blood volume up.
One day at a time.

I've committed to Fast 5 for life. I am not finding it too difficult. While losing weight I am also not eating sugar, starchy foods, or any grains (bread). Day 5 of the big change. Been walking in the mornings slowly improving on time and distance.
Fast 5 is not that bad as I really get to eat a late lunch and dinner in a 3pm to 8pm window. Breakfast was a good meal for me and I am still getting cravings but managing them.
I've been diagnosed diabetic for about 13 years. Never really respected the diagnosis and have stay controlled on 750mg to 1500mg of Metformin. Monitoring blood sugar very closely now. Never did before. (Boy, do my fingers hurt!). Seeing doctor this Friday.
I stopped drinking about 6 weeks ago. I was mainly a beer drinker. Was pretty much using it as a stress reducer every day. Not any more. Was tough for about 3 or 4 days. Just like everything else, at trigger times you have to redirect.
Just want to stick around for a little longer.
My weight goal is not that important to me. I want to jog again. I am 53 and in my 20's and 30's I jogged 6 miles a day. It was the very best physical time of my life. I would like to get some of that back.
