Trying to balance my insulin with my carb intake. seems like there's really no consistency or formula that works. I've cut back on insulin in both morning and evening shots. May need to cut back more because it seems like I ate a ton of food yesterday and blood glucose was uncomfortably low several times. my doctor hates it when I go below 90 but really I don't start to feel it until I get down to 70. I ate dinner at 5:30 and started feeling wonky before 8:00 B.G. was 67 so I ate yogurt and a boiled egg. BG was at 86 when I went to bed, 110 when I woke up. I waited a couple hours before eating anything or taking a shot, just drinking water and it shot up to 127. Took 15 units and ate two boiled eggs. It's now 2:15 and husband just informed me he wants to go to Outback for dinner. I'll check my B.G. again before we go but what in the heck am I going to eat there. Seems stupid to me to go out and eat a salad with grilled chicken on it and have to pay $15 for what I can make my way at home for a 10th of the price. Since I never eat beef or pork, chicken is pretty much my only protein option when eating there. some places have salmon but I can't afford to eat it at restaurant prices. I do buy it at the grocery when they have a sale. Another thing about most restaurants is that they don't discount your meal when you ask them to hold the car by stuff, but if you ask for an extra side of safe veggies they chat you more. Some thing's just just wrong, wrong, wrong about that. I plan to log my weight every Monday but still weigh each morning. Curious how it goes up and down several pounds from one day to the next???

Seems like a lot of work and sacrifice for less than one pound loss, but at least I didn't gain.

My blood sugar just refused to stay up yesterday. Had to keep checking it every half hour during computer group. Ate a few glucose tablets to keep me going until group was over. Afterwards I went to nearest restaurant, Olive Garden, and had salad, soup and one of their garlic bread sticks. Normally I avoid bread, especially white bread but I seemed to really need the carbs yesterday. I it's been awful trying to balance carb cuts with insulin. Doctor keeps changing my insulin dose but I can't lose weigh taking all this insulin. The standard diabetes diet is horrible for me so I have cut their recommendations for carbs in half. Now I just need to find the correct insulin/carb balance to keep my glucose in check and not go too high or low. I hate this see-saw!

Eating fewer calories this past few days to kick off some of the weight I've gained.
