Rain... Well, more of a mist shrouded me each heavy step I took along the path. The walking I enjoyed so much had been spoiled by the restless sleep before it. Sapped of energy even before my first step out of my bed. But I was glad to be rid of the lack of usual comfort my bed brought me. Abandoning it for getting started on the day and with hope the next night my bed would bring me the comfort I had sought. Now home, out of the dour damp, I seek to busy myself with the needed work ahead but I was loath even to consider doing that. Things will still get done despite my typical enthusiasm that had become a traitor to me. I should track it down and force it to work for me but even now I do not desire to move. The day feels heavy and perhaps that even stems from the disappointment of the previous days efforts not meeting with my demands. Another day of toil and it will be done. GOALS: - finish the #$%^&* floor! - get and unpack kitchen goods - clean bathroom and laundry room - do laundry (2 loads) - stretch - walk (done - 2 miles) - stay on plan - sleep - not just feign it

Never realized how lousy my sleep was until I got the fitbit. Seeing how few hours I actually sleep has me concerned.

Yeah mine was an eye opener, most nights I get 5 to 6 hours. I am working on going to bed earlier and less distractions in my bedroom. And no more working out at night which has me bummed out a little. But already I feel better after a week of 6.5 hours of sleep a night.

I love sleep. It seems like my alarm went off about 2 seconds after I went to bed. When did night get to be so short?

Nic... I was up at 5:15 am this morning and most days I am up at the lastest 6:30 alarm for school does not go off until 6:45 am. My Garmin Vivofit says I slept 3:06 hrs deep sleep and 3:36 hrs light sleep and much of that light sleep was me trying to lay still or tossing to get comfortable and did not feel like any level of quality there. I will be glad for the school routine. I want my old schedule back before the reno started. All summer I have been up between 5 and 6 am for the most part and that is going to bed between 9 pm and 10 pm which should provide 7-8 hrs sleep but today I am wandering about in a fog of lack-o-sleep. And Jess Fitbit and Garmin Vivofit monitor sleep cycles.

Ditto Glen, Pterath. Your writing is a pleasure to read! This piece in particular is sooo descriptive. You make struggle sound like an incredibly "alive" experience. Would make an excellent example of journalling for my English 10 classes. Have a good one!

Well...because of my total blindness I now have non-24 hour sleep/wake disorder. Basically I sleep 3 hours in a 24 hour period, it's a really good night when 1 full hour of that is deep sleep. Believe it or not my body has adjusted! (yup, tried everything you all are thinking and even the new medication). Kelly, slow down or you are going to be the dead woman with the great looking house! It's not worth it.

It is the impending winter that you cannot feel but know is coming that is a driving force or I would relax more. As soon as the floor is finished (3 rows remaining) I will get to do some more unpacking into the kitchen. If it was not pouring rain I would also get my pots and pans out of storage. :P But Fridge, freezer and stove are to be moved back in by the end of the weekend ( I would of course prefer today so I do not have to cook in the pouring rain) but it will be what it will be. After this I have about a 2 week break on major reno stuff. As I need to switch the focus on that of the convention and work I need to complete for it. Then 2.5 days worth of travel and a 4 day convention which is a mix of work and gaming. Then when we return I will be nose to the grindstone once more.

I don't get much sleep. Usually 5 to 6 hours but I want 8 to 9 hours. It is recommended to reset your sleep schedule to get that amount. I tried several times and I keep trying :)

Wow - I LOVE the graphic! I often think I am sleeping a lot but then my FitBit tells me it is less than I think it is...

I wish we could siphon off your rain and dump it on our horrendous wildfires here in Oregon. I love your prose; even when you're feeling down, you sound like a poet. I hope you can get some quality sleep. I know how much lack of it can drain a person. My Jawbone Up reminds me daily of it's importance, and tracks my sleep quality. It does keep me from reaching for my phone or kindle when I wake in the middle of the night. I'm going to wish our sunshine your way....
