I’ve been eating in a surplus for the past week. I haven’t been walking much or working out either. Tried to get back into working out today, but quickly ran out of steam. Going to try to get into it working out again. Maybe start with a morning walk or a light workout. Need to get back to eating properly. Hopefully, September will help bring back the routine.

When I worked out at home, it was too easy to skip a workout. When I joined a gym and joined a class, it became a healthy habit that I rarely missed class. Workout buddies and classes work.

Penderg, for me it’s the opposite. Going to the basement is super easy and hard to make excuses for (mind you I still find a way). The gym I find it’s always crowded and I have to figure out alternatives because ppl are taking a machine or a weight. Plus it’s easy to say it’s too far or too late (atleast for me). I guess it’s different for everyone, whatever works best. I need to figure out a way to stop myself when I start eating everything in sight.

Join an exercise class at the gym. I take classes that last 30 to 45 minutes. No waiting, no confusion. Just follow the trainer's instructions. I almost never go to an open gym. There are too many ways to get distracted and waste time. I have a full gym, beach volleyball court and pickleball practice area at home. And, I have even more excuses not to use any of it. Chores. TV show. Spouse. The neighbors. When you go to class, you do what the trainer says. Your plan isn't working. Try something else!!!
