Listen Fatsecret: don't tell me to weigh in now. I don't want to . I gained a couple pounds and I don't like it. I also had a little gluten and the rash on my hand is back; ugh.

Yeah, FS should really read our minds and know when pushing is NOT appropriate! Sorry the rash is back. I am prone to weird rashes and know how miserable it is.

I was just thinking the same thing last week. The use of the word “Now” and the “!” mark is a bit intensive. I just started a new challenge and part of the challenge is no weigh-ins. I will have to ignore that pressure inducing notification for six weeks. Yowsa!!! I hope your rash clears soon.

I weigh in when I want to, not when anyone tells me to. I weigh myself every AM (some people say that is a no-no) I record it when I feel like it.

Thanks guys; I'm just disappointed in myself and feeling lost since I gained a couple pounds. I weigh myself every morning and at night also, so I know if my weight is trending downward or not. I also take measurements. My big indicators are my thigh, waist and widest hip measurement . . . . I think I need to completely eliminate grains, carbs, and processed foods, and add them back in really systematically to see which ones are bothering me . . . . but I'm not really ready to eliminate more foods. I also need to step up my exercise to achieve the healthy and physique I'm looking for . . . .

You can do this, have you tried looking into your settings and changing the weigh in part. I am sorry to hear about the rash. I hope you have a great Easter

Isn't there a company loophole that an ingredient less than 1% of the total does not have to be mentioned on the nutrition label? Not sure but I heard that before. "They" never say what those "natural flavors" are.

What the heck is a 'natural flavor' anyway?!? My mom never made me a big heaping bowl of natural. I've just started to avoid anything that has that on the label. Now that I'm reading labels more intently some things are starting to creep me out a little and make me nervous.

I concur with @cpmodem, especially from a whole foods perspective. I stay on the outer perimeter to hit produce, whole wheat, meat/fish, deli (natural cheese and lo sodium, no nitrate meats). My aisles are mostly for pantry staples like old fashioned oats, beans, brown rice. Last, up through dairy for milk (soy, almond and 2% -- I'm still researching on the entire "milk" debate). My next step is all organic and grassfed meat and dairy. It will take restructure of my grocery mind and money but I believe my family should make this move. Short of raising my own livestock and planting a large garden I sometimes feel lost as to buying and preparing a variety of healthy foods for a family on a budget! If we want higher quality food, we have to vote with our purses and wallets.

yes the GF stuff is horrible! I need to find an appropriate carb to eat and just stick to all natural real whole foods. my body is not doing well with processed foods .. . . it's hard; my husband is s junk food junkie it's hard with packaged foods, even pre-cut veggies like cole-slaw and broccoli slaw can be treated to last longer. I got a few kitchen gadgets and I should be able to keep my food interesting for a while! it's not only expensive, but also time consuming and you almost have to be a chef for your food to look, taste, and be good for you too! In a couple weeks I will be growing some herbs and basic veggies . . . Do you guys have any carb suggestions for me?

I completely agree tulipgirl6. I have 2 little girls and a husband that don't have to stress about weight issues. So when they eat hamburger helper, I eat fish or a salad. Processed

food is so hard on us. Our bodies don't know how to break it down.

I haven't made fresh pasta. So when I buy it, I look for 100% whole wheat with as few ingredients on the label as possible (organic whole durum wheat flour OR organic whole wheat semolina). And I agree, cooking can be quite time consuming so I try to prep produce one day a week so I'm good to go for a few days and know exactly what I'm pulling from the fridge and pantry for each meal.
