So yesterday, I decided to put the pistachio cake on a smaller plate so it wouldn't take up so much room in the fridge. Of course not all would fit, so I ate some. It was good. Really wanted a piece of blue berry pie, but saved that for my night time snack which wound up being a bad idea. Not only did I eat too many calories, but had indigestion/heartburn at 2:00 am on into the wee hours of the morning. The discovery of getting older means desserts start biting back. I'm going to turn this into a positive and learn from it....I can no longer eat the pie I love without some pay back, so no more heavy desserts for me. This will definitely help keep my diet in check since every time I look at dessert, I'll remember the heartburn. (Don't like the idea of taking meds, even if they are OTC...I like to avoid all the meds I can, which is easy for me since I remember my father's basket of medications he was on and still died at 75!)
